The take away is simply this: Donald Trump tried to CANCEL the 2020 American Election for President, which Trump LOST and TRUMP failed. Another of many Trump Failures over his miserable LIFE.
Trump’s Final Dereliction of Duty
In the twilight of his presidency, Donald Trump has retreated into fantasy, leaving Biden with a big mess.
Many liberals are afraid Donald Trump is planning a coup. The reality is much stranger. Trump is daydreaming about a coup. All the bizarre machinations since Election Day, the repeated airing of conspiracy theories about vote rigging, and the spate of poorly supported lawsuits spring not from a mastermind plotting to destroy democracy but rather a delusional and self-obsessed man who cannot come to grips with the reality of rejection. As The New York Times reports, Trump, while conversing with his advisers, has been “floating one improbable scenario after another for staying in office while he contemplates his uncertain post-presidency future.”
The congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol advanced a measure Monday referring former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows to the Justice Department for contempt of Congress over his refusal to answer questions about the attack.
The bipartisan panel voted 9-0 to send the measure to the full House. The House is expected to vote as soon as Tuesday on whether to ask the Justice Department to prosecute Meadows, who was a House member before he joined the Trump administration.
Representative Cheney Reads Text Messages Urging President Trump to Speak Out Against Capitol Attack
Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) reads several texts from January 6 urging then-Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to get President Trump to speak out against the rioters attacking the U.S. Capitol as Congress me to certify the election of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Several of the texts came from the president’s son, Donald Trump, Jr., Fox News hosts and people in the Capitol Building.
These texts leave no doubt: the White House knew exactly what was happening at the Capitol. Republican members of Congress and others wrote to Mark Meadows as the attack was underway:
-“Hey, Mark, protestors are literally storming the Capitol. Breaking windows on doors. Rushing in. Is Trump going to say something?”
-“We are under siege up here at the Capitol.”
-“They have breached the Capitol.”
-“There’s an armed standoff at the House Chamber door.”
-“We are all helpless.”
