It’s Not a Coup, It’s the Constitution
It’s Time to Unite Around the Constitution
If I were to ask this simple question: Do you support the Constitution? I would most likely get an overwhelming positive response. All who answer the question would say YES. Yet, many who would reply in the affirmative are allowing Donald Trump’s continued violation of the Constitution of our Republic.
The Constitution contains 4,543 words, including the signatures and has four sheets, 28-3/4 inches by 23-5/8 inches each. It contains 7,591 words including the 27 amendments. The Constitution was ratified by specially elected conventions beginning in December 1787.
Trump’s violations of the Constitution:
- violating the so-called emoluments clauses of the Constitution.
No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince or foreign State.
Article 1, Section 9 of the US Constitution states holders of public office cannot “without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state”.
Trump has taken the oath, and he is violating the Constitution. What remedies are available? The Framers considered this prohibition so important that they deemed its violation to be grounds for impeachment.
soliciting foreign interference by trump
McMaster: It’s “absolutely” inappropriate for Trump to solicit foreign interference
More and more Americans are coming around to the fact that Trump is Criminal, Corrupt and UNFIT to be President.
The Founders Would Have Impeached Trump for His Ukraine-Related Misconduct
From the very first days of our nation, the founders were intent on ensuring that foreign entities did not influence America’s democratic system. They knew that foreign involvement in U.S. elections or policymaking posed an enormous threat to our sovereignty and that a president who would invite foreign interference for his own political benefit would be subject to impeachment. They would have been horrified at President Donald Trump’s efforts to pressure the Ukrainian government to help dig up dirt on a potential political rival.American Progress

Soliciting foreign interference doesn’t just violate norms. It also violates the law.
On Friday’s edition of Morning Joe, FEC chair Ellen Weintraub declined to talk about the specifics of Trump’s case but noted that “the law is pretty clear. … It is absolutely illegal for anyone to solicit, accept, or receive anything of value from a foreign national in connection with any election in the United States.”
President Trump publicly called on Ukraine and China to investigate Democratic rival Joe Biden.
Constitution limits the president’s ability to interfere with individual law enforcement matters. That has not stopped Trump from attempting to stop federal investigations of him and his associates; a clear violation of the Fifth Amendment, which requires that the law be applied evenhandedly and not used to punish disfavored individuals or groups.
Trump blocking his critics on Twitter was a violation of the First Amendment of others.
Usurp the separation of powers. He’s trying to seize legislative powers and that is the definition of Tyranny as James Madison put it. When the executive trys to seize legislative powers, the constitution makes it very clear Under Article 1. Congress and only Congress has the power to appropriate money.
1952 the Supreme Court ruled when Pres. Truman tried to seize private property during the Korean War, that the president does not have that power. Congress has laid out the rules for a National Emergency in 1976 which it lays out the kind of Emergency powers the president can assume. TRUMP IN VIOLATION IN ATTEMPTING TO BUILD HIS SILLY WALL.. CONFISCATING PRIVATE PROPERTY TO DO SO…
Many Trumpist explain away Trump’s criminality and corruption. Deny his violations of the constitution. Like the German people, who never saw any trains hauling innocent lives to concentration camps and gas incinerators, these Trumpist deny any violations of the Republic’s Constitution by Trump. Even though the train of Trump’s violations are in plain sight…
Trump’s Promise of a Pardon Violates the Constitution
Now both CNN and The New York Times have reported that Trump also personally instructed then–Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Kevin McAleenan to block asylum seekers, saying that if McAleenan faced jail time as a result of those actions, Trump would pardon him.
Opinion: Trump is creating the worst constitutional crisis in 150 years
Johnson, like President Trump, also thought that Congress was engaging in unconstitutional and illegitimate presidential harassment. As tensions ratcheted up, the branches of government in 1868 grew increasingly fearful of one another. Conspiracy theories ran rampant, and the prospect of violence seemed to be just around the corner. Presidential impeachment, and the refusal of either political party to nominate Johnson for another term in the White House, finally brought the battle to a close.LA TIMES
