2 Years After Condemning Violence, Trump Now Fully Embracing His Jan. 6 Coup Attempt
Two years after taking his aides’ advice to condemn the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrectionists, Donald Trump as he campaigns to regain the presidency is now openly embracing their violent assault on police officers in their efforts to carry out his attempted coup.
“It was a beautiful day … Jan. 6, it was the largest crowd I have ever spoken to,” Trump said at a New Hampshire “town hall” hosted by CNN Wednesday before complaining that so many of them are facing felony charges or have already been convicted for their crimes. “What they’ve done to these people, they’ve persecuted these people.”
‘Incredible Bulls**t’: Anderson Cooper Ripped For ‘Gaslighting’ Over Trump Event
The CNN host tried to defend his network for hosting a Donald Trump town hall this week.
CNN is a desperate and failing News organization. The Trump Town Hall was an act of desperation to persuade FOX viewers to switch from FOX to CNN by showing CNN is just as capable of embracing LIES as FOX and spewing the lies over TRUTH.
“Many of you think CNN shouldn’t have given him any platform to speak, and I understand the anger about that,” Cooper said. “But this is what I also get: The man you were so disturbed to see and hear last night? That man is the frontrunner for the Republican nomination for president.”
Cooper then pushed back at critics who don’t want to hear from Trump ― and don’t want CNN giving him the platform.

“Do you think staying in your silo and only listening to people you agree with is going to make that person go away?” he asked. “If we all only listened to those we agree with it may actually do the opposite.”
Nicolle Wallace Exposes CNN’s Most ‘Brazen’ Hypocrisy In Trump Town Hall Event
The MSNBC host called out the rival network over this week’s widely panned event featuring the former president.
MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace and her guests on “Deadline: White House” spent much of the show criticizing CNN for its town hall event in which Donald Trump repeatedly lied in front of a roomful of cheering supporters.
“Many observers found, observed and noted that Trump completely dominated the conversation. He commanded the room,” she said. “And he decided when and what would be discussed.”
That includes what she called “a cacophony of lies” as well as attacks on writer E. Jean Carroll, who sued Trump for rape in a civil case. The jury found him liable not for rape, but for sexual abuse and defamation, and awarded Carroll $5 million in total damages.
Yet Trump attacked her as a “whack job” during the event.
‘I believe it was a very smart thing they did’: Trump defends CNN amid town hall criticism
Donald Trump took to social media Thursday to defend his longtime rival CNN amid a barrage of criticisms for hosting his New Hampshire town hall.
