Trumpist Russians…Putinist Republicans… God help us everyone…

According to Action News 5, Trump’s past events that required local security resulted in hefty bills for the Trump campaign. Trump still owes El Paso $570,000 for a 2019 rally. The Republican Party wanted to move the 2020 convention to Jacksonville, Florida, during the pandemic, but that got canceled when security couldn’t work with half of the budget cops were promised.

As of July 2020, Trump had over $2 million in unpaid security bills that stacked up from Pennsylvania to New Mexico.

Who are these evangelicals? First off, their true ancestors are the Pharisees of the New Testament, whom Jesus describes as being obsessed with legalistic questions but neglecting “the more important matters of the law — justice, mercy and faithfulness.” This is the primary group that had Jesus killed. Much like the Pharisees, today’s American evangelicals do not represent the faith in any genuine way. They have done more damage to the name of Christianity than any group I can think of. Their misuse of the Christian faith as a political weapon against anyone they see as an enemy is driven primarily by greed and a thirst for power.

For several years, I have felt under attack from the Christian right. Granted, they don’t intend to attack me personally, just every idea, every belief, every principle I hold dear. I was raised to respect others’ opinions, to allow others their beliefs regardless of how silly or superstitious I perceived them to be. Throughout my life I have deferred to the sensibilities and sensitivities of those around me. I was raised, in short, to be tolerant, to be as accepting as possible of those people with whom I share a planet. In a culturally Jewish, practically atheist household, I realize now with some sense of irony, I was raised to behave in a manner very similar to that suggested by the character of Jesus in the second half of the old, magical fantasy novel the Bible.

“Right now, you know what, I’m gonna say something I probably shouldn’t. Do you know right now, I have something that can bring you into a building that would clean you from Covid as you walk through this dry mist. As you walk through the door, it will kill any Covid on your body. When you leave, it will kill the virus as you leave. This here product — they don’t want to talk about that. They don’t want to hear about that.”

REALLY GEORGIA, “Is Herschel Walker really ready to represent Georgia?”

GOP campaign ads as “mind-numbingly stupid” — lamenting that they are aimed at voters who are also “mind-numbingly stupid.”

“We have to figure out how a country can solve any problem if so many of its people are so intractably, astoundingly, mind-numbingly stupid,” Maher told viewers. “And I’m not saying that as hyperbole or just out of frustration. I mean this country just might be empirically, verifiably too fuKking dumb to continue as an ongoing enterprise.”
