Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) has both undergraduate and post-graduate degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), but the GOP lawmaker was ridiculed for his lack of reasoning after he posted an outrageous attack on Medicare.
” Over 70% of Americans who died with COVID, died on Medicare, and some people want Medicare for All?” Massie asked on Wednesday.
Massie made the elementary mistake of confusing correlation with causation. Were people who died of coronavirus more likely to have Medicare health insurance? Yes.
Did having Medicare cause COVID fatalities?
No !
This is the kind of stupid that Republicans regurgitate as FACT to the American people.
Comments like this comment from someone who graduated from one of America’s best schools; who has both undergraduate as well as post-graduate degrees, suggest to me that being WELL educated is not a predictor that a person is smart.

Appearing on MSNBC on Wednesday night, Swalwell reacted to a report from the New York Times that the National Archives discovered potentially classified information in the boxes of documents Trump took with him when he left the White House.
“I guess you would probably be more surprised if you learned at the end of this that Donald Trump had not taken classified information from the White House down to Mar-a-Lago,” Swalwell said. “And when you look at some of the other materials, unclassified, like the embarrassing Sharpie poster board, of course he was doing it to protect his own self-interest, to protect history from judging him for the clownish leader that he was.”
DHS bulletin warns trucker convoy could disrupt Super Bowl Sunday
(CNN)The Department of Homeland Security is warning law enforcement across the country that a convoy of truckers protesting Covid-19 vaccine mandates, similar to recent protests in Ottawa, Canada, could soon begin in the US — with the potential to affect Sunday’s Super Bowl in the Los Angeles area and cause other disruptions.
A DHS bulletin issued on Tuesday to state and local officials, obtained by CNN, said the agency “has received reports of truck drivers planning to potentially block roads in major metropolitan cities in the United States in protest of, among other things, vaccine mandates for truck drivers.”
Most of these people are not vaccinated and probably don’t wear a mask. Evidence suggest that up to and maybe more than 95% of all Covid Deaths are Unvaccinated people who don’t wear mask.
If getting vaccinated and wearing a mask will protect an individual, and I am vaccinated and have my booster shot, and always wear a mask in public enclosed places. If this behavior protects me,
then let the unmasked and the unvaccinated take their chance with Covid…
I’m tired of the unvaccinated and the unmasked more than I am tired of Covid… they are more dangerous than the virus.
