Today’s NOISE is that Democrats will lose the House of Representatives to GOPhers in November 2022. It seems to be a foregone conclusion… so why waste the money of an election?
After the BIG win in 2008 by Barack Obama, in the 2010 midterms, Republicans won a net gain of 63 seats, the largest shift in seats since the 1948 elections. In the Senate the Republicans won a net of 7 seats. The fate of the winning party in the Presidential election is a loss of the House or the Senate or both.
This fate is the prediction for Democrats in the 2022 Midterm election.
In the 2012 Presidential election, Democrats held on the the White House and won back 8 congressional seats but Republicans maintained an advantage 234 to 201. In the Senate Democrats maintained control of the Senate 53 to 45 and 2 independents who caucus with the Democrats.
In 2016, it was 241Republican to 194 Democrat. In 2018, after 2 years of Trump, it was 235 Democrat to 199 Republican. And in 2020, 222 Democrat and 213 Republican.
In 2022, it is expected Democrats will lose the House, simply that’s the way elections seem to bend. So the DO NOTHING Republicans will be in charge of the House of Representatives…Republicans have gerrymandered districts so even when Democrats get more votes Nationally, the lose locally…
Tennessee’s 3rd District has been gerrymandered so a Democrat has NO chance of ever winning in this District. It starts at the Georgia border on the south and ends at the Kentucky border on the north. It was drawn so that it is a district of mostly white people.
The bright spot is after 2 years of DO NOTHING Republicans in charge of the House of Representatives, it bodes well for 2024…
