THOMAS PAINE WAS A PAMPHLETEER.
A ‘muse of fire’. His prose was elegant and simple. All the people could read and appreciate. The farmer. The merchant. The seaman. Women who were homemakers. Men who were in the military.
Since the time of Tom Paine, long before words were distributed digitally; when the distribution process was to simply hand out the words written and printed on a pamphlet, Donald Trump is the greatest Threat to the status of the American Experiment.
There have been 58 elections with George Washington winning the first. That first election had 2 candidates and independents running for President. The losers peacefully accepted George Washington as President and every election since, the loser acquiesced to the winner and accepted the will of the people who voted for the winner as well as the loser.
Donald Trump and Mike Pence have been asked numerous times whether or not they would acquiesce to the winner, the candidate who is elected by the will of the people and neither will say that either will accept the will of the people.
The Trumpist Republicans would rather create a constitutional crisis than accept the will of the people.
I’ve never hidden my ardent disgust for Donald Trump. Trump is simply the WORSE President to ever occupy the White House. Donald Trump is a greater danger to The Constitution, Democracy, The Republic and America than any TERRORIST, Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, or any banana Republic dictator on the Planet. And Americans everyone must deal with this threat in the same manner we dealt with Hitler in World War 2. Beat him SOUNDLY.
America, The Constitution, The Republic and American Democracy are a direct result of people throwing off the yoke of Tyranny. People like Thomas Paine used words to frame the significance and importance of what the Colonist were undertaking.
To encourage and rally his troops General George Washington read Thomas Paine’s ringing words aloud at Valley Forge during winter at the end of 1777 and the beginning of 1778.
