The Trump administration proposal would require millions of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) beneficiaries to re-prove their eligibility for benefits as often as every six months — far more frequently than is currently the case. There is no justification for this policy. The United States already has some of the strictest eligibility criteria for disability benefits in the world. More than half of all claims are denied.
Trump’s Mar-A-Lago Winter Vacation Pushes Taxpayer Golf Tab Above $118 million
Trump criticized predecessor Barack Obama for spending too much time playing golf — but is on track to pass Obama’s eight-year total in just four years.
President Donald Trump has pushed his taxpayer-funded golf tab past $118 million on his 26th visit to Mar-a-Lago, his for-profit resort in Palm Beach, Florida, with a Saturday visit to his course in neighboring West Palm Beach.
The new total is the equivalent of 296 years of the $400,000 presidential salary that his supporters often boast that he is not taking.
Trump could resign sparked by Senate trial Scaramucci says… the reason Trump doesn’t want testimony in the Senate…
The Donald Trump impeachment trial in the Senate could include testimony under oath by Mick Mulvaney, John Bolton, Rudy Giuliani, and Mike Pompeo. How would the president respond? Joy Reid and her panel discuss.
The Republicans behaved like boorish adolescents through much of THE IMPEACHMENT HEARING, whining, bullying and yelling. That’s just how they are. Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard voted “present” for reasons nobody really understands, so the only Democrats to break ranks were the last of the old-time Blue Dogs, Rep. Collin Peterson of Minnesota and the party-switching Rep. Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey, who appeared with Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday and literally declared his “undying support” for the president.
…came as something of a shock on Wednesday night when PELOSI abruptly announced that she would not name House managers for a trial or send the articles of impeachment to the Senate until she knew how that body planned to proceed.
It was an unexpectedly bold power play, upending what Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his lieutenants had hoped to turn into a dull, perfunctory affair in order to spare their vulnerable swing-state Republican incumbents as much damage as possible. They know that holding a real trial with witnesses could be disastrous, and they have been fighting both the Democratic leadership and the White House on that point.
TRUMP SIDES WITH THE RUSSIAN…
Trump promotes Putin’s take on a “far-fetched” impeachment process
President Trump retweeted an article in which Putin derided impeachment, and added that the process has been a “witch hunt.”
Days after being impeached by the House of Representatives, President Donald Trump seemed to echo and endorse Russian President Vladimir Putin’s take on the impeachment process on Twitter.
