Witness In Trump-Ukraine Scandal Ordered Not To Appear Before Congress
The State Department blocked Gordon Sondland, U.S. ambassador to the European Union, from testifying before a House impeachment panel.
Welcome back to impeachment watch. Gordon Sondland, the US Ambassador to the European Union, is no longer appearing in his deposition before Congress today after a last-minute directive by President Donald Trump’s State Department. “He would be testifying before a totally compromised kangaroo court,” Trump said in a tweet revealing he personally endorsed the move. Sondland emerged as a key witness in the Ukraine scandal last week after text messages revealed his role in advancing Trump’s efforts to pressure Ukraine into announcing an investigation into Joe Biden. The former special envoy to Ukraine, Kurt Volker, provided the damning texts to Congress during his closed-door testimony last week.
The war in Syria is about to enter an uncertain phase after the White House announced late Sunday that it was withdrawing from northeastern Syria in advance of Turkey’s military operations across the border.
This directive — which apparently blindsided allies and lawmakers and national security officials alike — leaves the American-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), largely made up of Kurdish civilians and Kurdish troops who led the fight against ISIS on the ground in Syria, at the mercy of Turkish forces

‘Everything is a clown show’: Republican blasts Trump’s obstruction as his colleague Jim Jordan defends it…
Fox News on Tuesday cut away from a press conference being held by Ohio Republican congressman Jim Jordan to interview another GOP member of Congress, Adam Kinzinger of Illinois.
“Everything is a clown show,” Kinzinger said as Jordan was defendingthe Trump administration’s decision to block Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, from appearing for a scheduled interview with House committees leading the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump.
Trump fans are furious at Mar-a-Lago for joining ‘the Cancel Culture movement’ and nixing a far-right anti-Muslim event
On November 7, the far-right anti-Muslim group ACT for America was planning to hold a high-priced dinner at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in South Florida. But the Trump Organization decided against letting the group hold the event at Mar-a-Lago, and ACT for America is absolutely furious.
Far-right media figure Michelle Malkin had been chosen as the reception’s keynote speaker, and tickets started at $1500. But on Sunday, a spokesperson for the Trump Organization told the New York Times, “this event will absolutely not be taking place at Mar-a-Lago.”
“A presidency of one” means a nation ruled by Fox News
The so-called “resistance inside the Trump administration” appears to have failed. The Washington Post reported Wednesday that administration officials, fearing reprisals or fading influence, have all but given up trying to temper his authoritarian impulses. The result is “a presidency of one” in which Trump’s personal grievances, political desires, and conspiracy-minded obsessions “have become priorities of departments that traditionally have operated with some degree of political independence from the White House.”
In practice, a country governed by Trump’s whims is one that is ruled by Fox News. Trump spends hours each day watching the network’s propaganda, and he privately seeks advice and feedback from its hosts. Fox stokes his ire, and he responds by demanding that members of his administration assuage his grievances, regardless of the validity of his concerns or the legality of his proposed response.
POLL SHOWS EVEN REPUBLICANS MAY BE COMING AROUND ON IMPEACHMENT
ACCORDING TO A NEW POLL,
58 percent of Americans support the impeachment probe into Trump—
INCLUDING 30 PERCENT OF REPUBLICANS.
DONALD TRUMP PROMISED TO ELIMINATE THE DEFICIT IN 8 YEARS. SO FAR,
HE HAS INCREASED IT BY 68%
Trump inherited a deficit of $585 billion when he took office in January 2017. That was 58 percent lower than the $1.4 trillion former President Barack Obama inherited in 2009 following the financial crisis, a number his administration slashed over two terms.
According to the latest Congressional Budget Office data released on Monday, the full-year deficit for 2019 is estimated to come in at $984 billion, just shy of the $1 trillion that many analysts were expecting. In 2018 the figure was $779 billion and in 2017 it was $665 billion.
One week after President Donald Trump stood on the White House lawn and asked China to investigate his top political opponent, Joe Biden, China is responding. In a word, “no.”
WHAT IS TRUMP HIDING?
New Poll Shows 21-Point Increase in Support for Impeachment Inquiry—Among Republicans
A new poll out Tuesday from the Washington Post and the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University shows dramatic shifts in support of the impeachment process, with 58 percent of the country now saying they support the impeachment inquiry and nearly half—49 percent—saying they support removing Trump from office.
“Since a July poll by The Post and ABC, there has been movement toward an impeachment inquiry among all three groups, with support for the inquiry rising by 25 points among Democrats, 21 points among Republicans and 20 points among independents,”
White House Refuses To Cooperate With Impeachment Inquiry; Constitutional Crisis Looms
The administration’s letter ― which consisted more of the president’s political attacks than substantive legal arguments ― alleged that Democrats have denied Trump the right to “see all evidence, to present evidence, to call witnesses, to have counsel present at all hearings, to cross-examine all witnesses” and to object to “the examination of witnesses or the admissibility of testimony and evidence.”
Swamps have redeeming value… not all bad… Trump’s White House is a Sewer….
Swamps are dominated by trees. They are often named for the type of trees that grow in them, such as cypress swamps or hardwood swamps. Freshwater swamps are commonly found inland, while saltwater swamps are usually found along coastal areas. Swamps are transition areas. They are neither totally land nor totally water.
Swamps exist in many kinds of climates and on every continent except Antarctica. They vary in size from isolated prairie potholes to huge coastal salt marshes. Some swamps are flooded woodlands. Some are former lakes or ponds overtaken by trees and shrubs.
