Trump’s Sewer…

Nazis bullied a conservative Tennessee town. Locals punched back. Trump should be worried.

Recently, Gabrielle Hanson, an alderman and mayoral candidate in Franklin, Tennessee  —  my hometown — thought it was a cute idea to invite a neo-Nazi group to escort her and her husband into a public mayoral forum and to stick around and try to intimidate not only journalists but also ordinary citizens.

Since the Oct. 2 event, members of the group, called the Tennessee Active Club, have continued their intimidation tactics, posting on the encrypted chat app Telegram the addresses and home photos of some of Hanson’s critics. The posts are usually accompanied by messages about “silencing” critics, “beating the s- – – ” out of them — the latter meant for yours truly — or violent references to “The Turner Diaries,” a 1978 novel that is often called the white supremacists’ bible.

Yet, even though Brad Lewis, the leader of the Tennessee Active Club, has referred to himself as “an actual literal Nazi,” Hanson has not apologized for inviting the group to the Franklin forum and told her colleagues on the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen that they have brought the recent uproar on themselves.

“I think the problem is that Trump is degenerating into something before our eyes that is far uglier and more dangerous historically than what we have dealt with in the past,” he said. “It’s not just the rhetoric that’s authoritarian in this case, it’s the policies that he’s proposing. It’s the threats and the vengeance.”

Avlon went on to argue that “we should all be very cautious about Nazi parallels,” but he added that Trump makes it impossible to avoid when he uses “exactly the language of Hitler and Mussolini” to describe his foes.

Biden Campaign Aims to Use Trump’s Threat to Obamacare to Paint a scary picture of Mr. Potato Head.

Mr. Potato Head, the Republican presidential front-runner, wrote on social media over the holiday weekend that he was “seriously looking at alternatives” to the 13-year-old Affordable Care Act, and that his fellow Republicans should “never give up” seeking its repeal, Mr. Biden’s campaign was happy to cede its programming decisions to Mr. Trump.

Without citing which interview or report caught his attention, the former president took to social media to slam the news network and its CEO.

“MSNBC (MSDNC) uses FREE government approved airwaves, and yet it is nothing but a 24 hour hit job on Donald J. Trump and the Republican Party for purposes of ELECTION INTERFERENCE,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Brian Robert’s, its Chairman and CEO, is a slimeball who has been able to get away with these constant attacks for years.”

Hunter Biden testifying could be embarrassing — for the House GOP

President Joe Biden’s son has been a major target for Republicans. Now his lawyer says he’s willing to testify in an open House committee session.

Republicans don’t want America to see the Truth and don’t want Hunter Biden to testify in the light of Truth.

But rather than fight the subpoena, Hunter Biden appears eager, maybe too eager, to appear before the GOP-led panel. In a letter from his lawyer on Tuesday, Biden not only agreed to testify but to do so in an open committee session. And in his response, Oversight Committee Chair Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., made clear how caught off guard he was — and how unprepared he is to back up his tough talk in public.

“Your fishing expedition has become Captain Ahab chasing the great white whale,” Hunter Biden’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell, wrote Comer in his response to his client’s subpoena. But rather than fight the subpoena in court, Lowell suggested skipping the deposition altogether. His client, he wrote, would agree “to answer any pertinent and relevant question you or your colleagues might have, but— rather than subscribing to your cloaked, one-sided process—he will appear at a public Oversight and Accountability Committee hearing.”

Liz Cheney’s new book blasts  GOP as ‘enablers and collaborators’ of Trump, who Tennessee Congressman Mark Green called ‘Orange Jesus’

“And she writes about Congressman Mark Green of Tennessee. Yeah. And he’s signing and she hears him and, quote, as he moved down the line signing his name to the pieces of paper. Greene said sheepishly to no one in particular, the things we do for ‘The Orange Jesus,’” Gangle concluded.

“They call him ‘The Orange Jesus. Yes, it’s not exactly a compliment.”

“In the case of the current evangelical political machine, the devil is all too often wearing pastoral robes and expensive tailored suits. For many years, the evangelical church has pointed to the devil outside in the world, but the devil is the one doing the pointing. Secondly, the devil is always up to the same thing: creating division through fear,” Manderson wrote.

In a Thursday column for the Washington Post, contributing editor Robert Kagan warned that Trump’s political power will only increase after he secures the nomination, and that the United States is on a “clear path to dictatorship,” as not enough Americans are taking his threat to subvert democracy seriously. He also referred to the notion that a Republican other than Trump could win the GOP nomination as “magical thinking.”

A video titled “Feeble,” posted by The Lincoln Project on Monday, was quickly swatted away by the 45th president as “fake.”

The minute-long video is a slick takedown of the aspiring leader committing a series of gaffes and blunders both during and since leaving the White House.

The Lincoln Project, made up of a cadre of GOP and ex-GOP anti-Trumpers, suggests the candidate running to unseat President Joe Biden is “weak” and “unsteady.”
